We were ambushed today between two of the portal links in the Chasm. Myself and four others found ourselves trapped between two legions of the Plague-changed and Mind-Flayers. It was exhilerating and terrifying all at once. The Private is certainly correct in that those glaring blue eyes are the worst; the fires bore directly into one's soul.
Ambush presented the opportunity to try my newfound Rust Monster in combat. He is squeamish, still, but hopes are high that he will grow to be formidable indeed. I remain convinced that he was a good investment, especially against the blade-wielders.
